What this policy covers

TuneFootprint analyzes your Spotify listening history. The core of the product is simple: the ZIP or JSON files you upload never leave your browser. Unzipping, parsing, aggregation and storage all run locally on your device, inside this website.

Your Spotify data export

When you drop your Spotify data export on the uploader, the file is read by a background worker in your own browser. We keep the fields needed for the tools (timestamps, track, artist and album names, milliseconds played, skip and shuffle flags), and we immediately discard sensitive fields such as IP addresses and usernames. The sanitized events and precomputed statistics are stored only in your browser's IndexedDB local storage.

No server copy of your listening history ever exists. There is no upload endpoint, no database of plays, and no account system. "Clear local data" in the dataset status bar deletes every stored record in one click.

Generated images and exports

Shareable cards (Music DNA, Spotify Pie, roast) are painted on a local canvas and saved directly to your device. CSV exports of your rankings and history are generated in the browser as well. None of these files are transmitted anywhere by TuneFootprint.

Technical information

Like most websites, we receive limited technical request information (timestamps, browser headers, error details) needed to operate and protect the service. We may use anonymous, aggregate product events — such as "upload started" or "result viewed" — to understand whether the tools work. These events never contain track names, artist names, file names, raw JSON or any part of your listening history.

Choices and changes

You can delete your imported dataset at any time with "Clear local data", and clearing your browser storage removes it just as completely. We may update this policy as the product changes; the date above identifies the current version. TuneFootprint is not affiliated with or endorsed by Spotify AB.
